The Student Lens: The Nai Interview

Hello Everyone, and welcome back to the Student Lens. Today, I will be chatting with Nai'ya, a consistent student at Elemental Studios who has showcased her confidence and perseverance and is an incredibly talented dancer. Like many people who come to Elemental Studios, Na'lya has really showcased her personality, drive, and curiosity in the many dance styles offered at Elemental Studios.

Before we get into the interview, let's learn a little bit about her, shall we?

Na'lya is a 23-year-old Pharmacy Technician, Volleyball Coach, and dancer. She said, "My drive is to help people and heal the world. I enjoy giving back to the community and going to protests to stand up for what's right. You can reach me at naiyaj10@gmail.com for more information on my missionary work."

Here is our interview!

1. How did you find out about Elemental Studios?

Nai: "I found out about Elemental through Instagram ads!"

2. What was your first class at Elemental Studios, and how was that experience for you?

Nai: "My first class was a heels fundamental class through badbishclub with Serina before Elemental Studios opened!"

3. Do you have any favorite classes at the moment? If so, what are they?

Nai: "My favorite class is Friday nights with Aasa (Open Level Heels)."

4. What do you look forward to the most when you come to Elemental Studios?

Nai: "I always look forward to being able to release what the day has thrown at me."

5. Who are your favorite dancers in the dance community that you admire or aspire to be like?

Nai: "I admire the drive that Triple A (Anaja, Manni, and Aasa) have for dance and their students. They work hard in all aspects of dance, and it really shows through their performances."

6. You showcase a lot of confidence in your dance class videos that you post, even when you mess up. How did you build and develop your confidence, and what advice do you have for dancers who are working on their confidence?

Nai: "Consistency is key when building your confidence!! We all have to start somewhere, and we ALL mess up. I believe the more you stay consistent, the more comfortable you'll be in your body, and your confidence will grow from there!"

7. When did you start your dance journey?

Nai: "I started my dance journey when I was a kid, then I quit to pursue volleyball. I picked it up again in April of 2024."

8. What is a fun fact about yourself that you would love for us to know?

Nai: "A fun fact about me would be that I enjoy typing."

9. What are some hobbies or interests that you have outside of dance?

Nai: "Some hobbies I have outside of dance are working out, coaching/playing volleyball, cooking/baking, swimming, and more!"

10. Do you have any dance goals for yourself in this new year?

Nai: "My dance goals this year are to focus solely on improving my skills in hip-hop. Also, venturing out to LA to challenge myself in my heels technique."
